The court has permitted a student to continue studies in his convent after he was sacked for sporting a beard. Tomorrow the student might argue that shirt and trousers are against his religous code and may insist on wearing a religious attire.Why cant he join a school which permits him to sport a beard.He wants to pursue education in a good school but is not ready to adhere to its rules.He insists on having the cake and eating it too. A school is no place to exhibit religion. As for his contention that it is indispensible part of Islam to sport a beard,are Muslims without beards not Islamic? No Muslim has ever demanded permission to do so in the name of religion in the Army and the Airforce. We must prevent the corruption of pure religion of Islam by such retrogade steps.
