What I am saying is that India does not figure much in his scheme of things in broader perspective.Why..?
China is USA's main creditor now by holding nearly a USD 1 trillion of US debt besides holding more than USD 2 trillion forex reserves.
Where is India ?
Nowhere to talk about in either forex reserves, international trade or even GDP( not the growth rate). So why would Obama give top preference to India ? Just look at one statistic : China produces annually more than 600 million MT of steel while India's is not even one-tenth. China is not a friend of US but a useful business partner and so is poor Pakistan.
we should also remember unlike India, the countries like US,China are framing their foreign policy based on their own national interest..
Indian media has a tunnel vision. It's a pity that our media indulges in make-believe instead of depicting harsh realities.
But,
That does not mean that he is anti India...
India is the future..India is one of the democracies enjoying natural relationship with US..even now a very big market for US goods(defence, IT services etc)..A significant but not a top priority country..
Hence they are taking some steps to woo the Indians( of course they are mostly pat in the back steps like first state dinner for PM)..i will list them when I get time...
Being a patriotic citizen, i can glorify India with its achievements..But the harsh reality is that its not enough when you compare them in the global scale..
